What Is GreenAlert And How Does It Work?
Posted on in Agriculture by Marvin Reiff
When your silo is within a few feet of being full, the GreenAlert system will warn you through a strobing beacon on the top of your silo, along with an indicator light on your control panel.
The system works by a tilt switch that is suspended from the interior ceiling of your silo. When the feed reaches the probe, the tilt switch activates the warning lights. The control box has a bright LED strobe light that is mounted within sight of the person operating the blower.
The LED beacon light on top of the silo can be seen for miles, far enough to alert the harvesting crew in the field. The control box is portable and can be easily moved to another silo if needed by simply unplugging both the input 110 volt AC and the output 12 volt DC plugs. This portability reduces the cost for the GreenAlert system on your next silo.
The GreenAlert system is a handy addition to your next silo upgrade. For more information give Tim Coppersmith a call at (715) 267-1416.
